VI. General assembly meeting of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council was held on 26 April 2017 at Acapulco Hotel.At the General Assembly Meeting, after watching the promotional films of the Council and Civil Defense, the IUSARC II. Term Chairman Prof. Dr. Günhan ERDEM delivered a speech and 2016-2017 period activities of IASARCwere presented. Civil Defense Organization President Erdoğan ÇELEBİ also delivered a speech at the General Assembly.Following the formation of the Council Committee, new membership applications were evaluated and membership of the University of Zambia, Ada Kent University and International Final University was accepted at the General Assembly. Supervision and Disciplinary Boards were determined.
Following the approval of the determined boards, on behalf of Cyprus International University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet ADALIER has been appointed as the President of the Council and on behalf of Lefke European University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ihsan TAYHANI has been appointed as the vice president by the Board of Directors.Following the signing of the decisions taken in the General Assembly and the ratification of the activity program for the coming year, a memorial plaque was presented to II. Term Chairman Prof. Dr. Günhan ERDEM by III. Term Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. By Ahmet ADALIER. The meeting was concluded with the memorable photograph taken after the participation certificate were presented to the participants of the General Assembly.The General Assembly also decided to apply for the”Institutional Membership” to International Emergency Management Committee, which was set up in 1993 in the US state of Washington and is headquartered in Belgium with the aim of sharing information, methodology, innovations and new technologies, communities to fight against human and natural disasters.
